Bluecrop was introduced in 1952. It is a high-bush, mid-season, with standards of excellence. It is a leading commercial variety. Bluecrop has medium to large, open clusters of large, firm, crack resistant, light blue fruit. Bluecrop has high quality fruit with good sub acid flavor. It is good for fresh eating, preserves, baking and freezing. Bluecrop is a vigorous, upright grower, that will reach 4 -6 feet at maturity with slender light red canes.It tends to overbear unless properly pruned. Bluecrop will grow well in most areas. Zones 4-7.
