Evergreen Huckleberry is a long time native of the Northwest. It has small dark green leaves with beautiful pink-white blooms in the spring and large clusters of small black-purple berries in late summer. It is said that the berries reach their full flavor after the first frost. Huckleberries have a delicious wild tart flavor that can be eaten fresh off the bush or used for jam, jellies, sauces and pie! This Evergreen bush can grow up to 15 inches tall and spreads into a dense shrub that can be used to boarder any landscaped area. This is a native edible plant that would be a nice addition to any edible garden.
